These are six photographs of Lexi, my sisters JRTxChihuaha, which i took several weeks ago.This is mostly an experiment with colour, contrast and lighting. I am in love with the old 70s and 80s style of photography and am trying to... learn to duplicate it.

These aren't perfect examples of the style but, I'm quite happy with them. They are certainly more interesting than the original, unedited images.

I decided that, alongside another who since chickened out, I would do a self portrait nude series. There's nothing particularly graphic about them; just some 'extreme close ups'.

At university today, there was a native Australian Raven playing in the small Japanese garden near my lecture hall. Surprisingly, when I took out my camera, it didn't flee - most birds seem to when the SLR comes out. I managed to take only three photos before a group of students came through and frightened off the bird, however I do think I captured the playfulness of the bird.

It has been far, far too long my old friend. I have abandoned you, seeking shelter in Houses of Ill Repute; DevArt, Flickr; abominations all; no thought for aesthetics or design or beauty or form; like a sly whore coaxing the arts for a profit. I apologise.

I shall return with bounty plentiful. I shall endeavour to forge through with new adornments. I shall never tire or let my desire to be with you wane again.

We were looking at old photos of Kaitlyn; images from the time of the Babies Do Not Need series and so forth. It's been a while since I did take any photos of her, really... so a week or so ago she was in my windowsill on a sunny day and I took these.

It's been almost eight months since I posted anything here. To be honest I haven't been doing much photography; a few pics of kaitlyn, the occasional random shot but nothing... artistic.

For this project, I requested suggestions of subject matter from my friends and family, and it ran with limited success. A few problems encountered were based mostly around suggestions based on things that simply weren't possible or appropriate. I also had about six extra people on the list who said they were thinking, but simply never provided any requests.

Here we have the eight requests that were undertaken.

We had some lovely summer rain today. The kind that pours for twenty minutes before allowing the sun passage, and casting the world in brilliant golden light. These are all photographs of the flowers and plants in the garden here in Mellor. This post is dedicated to Catbiscuit, and her love of floral photography.

Lyme Park is an old manor house, just outside Greater Manchester, that was donated to The National Trust and is now a tourist spot. I walked the grounds yesterday with my Aunt, and took numerous photographs, as I am apt to do...

Went for a walk around Mellor today. There is a small, and mostly hidden pathway to the side of the house, and upon following it you emerge in a creek lined gully at the back of the houses. These photos are from my journey henceforth; up the hill and through as many of the ensuing fields as the public path would allow.

This is a series called 'Babies do not need...' whereing I followed my subject, Kaitey, around and took a photograph every time she picked up something she probably shouldn't have. This turned out to be fairly often. Originally I intended to have nine of these, but it's not possible to get the last one, as Kaitey is no longer a baby.

So eight will do :)

This was a university assignment to create emotive and interesting portrait imagery. My attempt was to create shocking, disturbing and unpleasant pieces, that brought about a feeling of awkwardness or uncomfortableness in the viewer. With this in mind, the subject matter is confronting, but I also intentionally dismissed the standard conventions of photographic imagery and made each photo off kilter; dirty negatives that were out of frame, blurred, high contrast and overblown.

The intent was to create something you might find on a serial killers basement floor and, although I failed the assignment for my images being "technically" inept, I feel this was achieved. Incidentally, this project remains incomplete: the original plan was to have four victims, each one with a slightly different set of circumstances. This was, however, impossible as the other models pulled out at the last minute. One day I hope to finish the project.

As a kick start to this new journal, I decided to place up a back catalogue of the photographs I like best of all my work.

NOTE: My personal screen resolution is 1280x1024, and as such some of the photographs contained within will be very large on smaller monitor sizes. I do apologise for this; except if you are running less than 1024x768.... then you have no-one to blame but yourself.
